"The New Normal" is a self-portrait photography series that responds to the early stages of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, capturing the reactions, observations, and emotions I’ve experienced during this abnormal moment in time.

This collection explores the strange and surreal way in which our normal has so suddenly shifted. We are continually haunted by an invisible, ever-morphing threat that has altered our definition of “safe” to now be synonymous with that of “isolated.” Waking life suddenly feels like an endless, eerie dream that is riddled with feelings of displacement, frustration, and powerlessness. It feels as though we’re trapped in a surreal limbo; aimlessly waiting and blindly navigating this unfamiliar liminal space. Where do we go from here?
